R&D Technical Lead Controls – Electrical development

As our new R&D Technical Lead Controls, you get a job with lots of responsibility, freedom to plan your work and the opportunity to develop your talent and pursue your professional interests, while building a strong methodology within how Controls development is done and implemented.
The creative and easy-going tone and culture in the R&D team fit you like a glove, and it’ll be your professional base as you take the lead on development tasks and projects within Controls, with focus on Controls for large Datacentre projects. While the project longevity may turn some people off, you know that great solutions can take time to complete, and you’ll steer your projects through all project phases – from ideas, design, and construction to prototyping, testing, implementation, EOL and commissioning – with a steady hand and using the organisation around you.
Technical lead on controls and electrical parts in Novenco
The position offers many interesting tasks including, but not limited to the below:
- Be the first point of contact for control systems and electrical controls for large customers such as datacenter customers. Participate in meetings with customers and discuss technical solutions
- Work closely with other departments, including R&D Core, production and engineering, to ensure that control systems meet company standards.
- Continued improvement of the structure in the way Novenco Controls works
- Technical lead means responsibility of the controls and electrical part, by reviewing the different project, advice and approve the technical level in the different R&D projects both in the R&D DTO department and in the R&D Core
- Take full responsibility on development and execute in the R&D DTO department on controls and electrical parts, to optimize the business with our customer
- Build up relations with DTO customers controls and electrical specialist and secure the optimal solution for both customer and Novenco.
- For the DTO customer Support sales in advanced solution or coach in optimal solution
- Visit key customers and suppliers (20-30 days/year)
- Adviser for controls and electrical test in R&D general
- Adviser for adding resources to have the optimal team
Further tasks include:
- Developing and implementing controls strategy, based on the Novenco overall strategy in the short and long term.
- Initializing and realizing product innovations to respond to the changing needs, expectations and developments in the market.
- Managing the product costs related to Novenco products.
- Collecting information about product performance, customer experiences and perceptions and the related interaction.
- Managing and controlling the product chain to increase customer base, loyalty and profitability.
- Promoting controls and electrical products worldwide, along with local Novenco offices
- Support for other parts of the R&D team
Electrical Engineer, Master Electrician or Marine Engineer
You probably have a curious and creative approach when working on a product improvement or looking for ways to achieve a higher efficiency level. But you are also systematic and structured when meeting project deadlines or completing deliverables at the agreed time and quality.
You’re most likely quite good at managing and prioritizing several assignments at the same time, and you like to take on new tasks and learn new aspects within your field. And there’s no doubt that you’re a great person who is nice, fun, open-minded and happy to cooperate with colleagues and customers, all over the world.
- You have an education as an electrical engineer, Master Electrician or Marine Engineer or similar and 5-10 years of experience working with PLC Controls and control panels
- You are experienced/have knowledge with asynchronous motors, permanent magnet motors controlled by VFC and EC
- You have experience with electrical diagram tools, E-Plan, PC Schematic or similar software for designing electrical systems
- You are happy to offer technical support and guide the organisation in Denmark, Holland, UK, Singapore, India and Germany as well as our customers worldwide.
- You have practical workshop experience, e.g., from working with control panel or setup of drives.
- You can use MS Office and know the value of a structured approach, solid planning and documentation.
- You write and speak English fluently, and it’s a plus if you also know some Danish, or are prepared to learn Danish
