Commissioning Manager
Join Schneider Electric’s Team as a Commissioning Manager
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, safety, and technical excellence of critical facility projects during the commissioning phase? Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the end-to-end commissioning process, distinct from design and installation, with a focus on validating and testing complex systems to ensure they meet both regulatory and performance standards.
Role Overview:
As the Commissioning Manager, you will provide specialized engineering expertise and technical leadership during the entire commissioning lifecycle. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all commissioning activities, including site observations, testing procedures, and compliance documentation, ensuring every system meets the required technical specifications. This role requires close coordination with contractors, engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality outcomes that align with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Planning & Execution:
- Develop and manage the commissioning plan, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and testing schedules. Provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute all aspects of commissioning.
- Witness and lead the testing of complex mechanical systems, ensuring all performance criteria are met.
- Technical Design Validation:
- Participate in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) design process, offering critical insights and adjustments necessary for a successful commissioning phase. Ensure all technical specifications are met by interpreting design criteria and testing complex systems for compliance.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to confirm that systems align with project design and meet the required operational standards.
- Project Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison between field engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders throughout the commissioning phase. Coordinate and communicate project requirements, timelines, and testing outcomes.
- Document and report on project status, maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager or Senior Engineer, and prepare meeting minutes, field reports, and punch lists to track project progress and compliance.
- Quality Control and Compliance:
- Conduct detailed site observation surveys to ensure adherence to local codes, project regulations, and best practices. Oversee safety protocols and compliance requirements for on-site commissioning activities and address any deviations or quality issues promptly.
- Prepare general condition survey reports, punch list reports, and determine corrective actions for on-site problems, ensuring the project meets all specifications.
- Risk & Change Management:
- Identify potential changes or challenges that may impact the commissioning phase and work closely with the Project Manager to evaluate their impact, including costs and schedule adjustments. Quickly address any issues affecting project performance or client satisfaction.
- Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in commissioning, safety standards, and equipment functionalities. Share knowledge within the team, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting best practices.
- Actively contribute to Schneider Electric’s knowledge base by sharing lessons learned and new techniques to enhance commissioning efficiency.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field combined with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, ideally with hands-on experience in commissioning, specifically focusing on the commissioning phase of projects. This role requires in-depth knowledge of commissioning processes, including test procedures, punch list management, and compliance standards. The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, a keen attention to technical detail, and effective communication abilities, both written and verbal. Proficiency in digital tools for improved work efficiency is beneficial. Additionally, the role requires a willingness to work on-site for an extended period. For the next years, on-site work will mostly be in Kalundborg, working on large projects.
Schneider Electric offers a dynamic, team-oriented work environment where you can advance your expertise, make impactful decisions, and lead critical projects with high standards for quality and safety.
Fluency in English and Danish is required.
