Business Manager

Combilent has had a solid and profitable business within Land Mobile Radio (LMR) for more than 20 years, and they are expected to sustain this for many years to come. However, with new digital technology (5G/6G), the competitive landscape is changing – new competitors, but also new opportunities. Combilent is starting the journey to find new business segments to grow further.

As our new Business Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our company by identifying, developing, and expanding new business opportunities while enhancing the commercial awareness across the group. This includes leveraging our strengths as a niche OEM supplier of mechatronics with integrated software and Radio Frequency (RF) technology to develop new products and market segments as well as identifying potential acquisition targets for bolt-on companies that align with our expertise.

You will report to the CEO and work very close with her and with the founder (CCO) of the company, who is playing a pivotal role regarding products and customers.

Key Responsibilities

This is a newly created position, and there will therefore be good opportunities to shape the role, but you will, among other things, be responsible for:

  • Identifying and driving new revenue growth opportunities.
  • Conducting market research and competitive analyses to explore untapped markets and new product areas that align with our capabilities.
  • Building and presenting business cases for new products, including financial projections, go-to-market strategies, and resource needs.
  • Identifying and pursuing potential acquisitions; Coordinate and participate in due diligence
  • Identifying and staying ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences to inform product development and build the acquisition strategy.
  • Building strong relationships and new networks with key customers and partners to uncover business opportunities and ensure alignment with market needs.
  • Playing an active role in all levels of the business, from high-level strategic discussions to supporting operational tasks where needed, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of the company.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience.

Most likely, you hold a degree in Engineering, Business, MBA or related field. You have 5+ years of experience in business management, product development, or strategic acquisitions, in an industry that is tech focused. You have strong analytical skills to evaluate market opportunities, conduct business due diligence, and monitor financial performance. If you have had experience with M&A, especially with the initial phases identifying potential target companies, it will be an advantage. Furthermore, you are experienced in strategic thinking combined with an entrepreneurial mindset, and with the ability to thrive in a small business environment where everyone contributes.
