Commercial Product Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated commercial product manager, who can identify potential new product opportunities, be a valuable part of the product development streams and make effective go-to market plans.  This is the rare opportunity to join a team who are under constant development, and strives to work closely and effectively with stakeholders ensuring the strategic goals and objectives of product management.

You will be global commercial product manager for all of the product categories, brands and markets and the voice of the costumers and markets into the product development projects. You will secure that market demands are reflected into the prioritized project pipeline, and make strong and convincing business cases aligned with the different markets. The team is newly established and you will play an integral role in establishing best practice and work routines to raise the bar for commercial product management. You will work closely with local sales/marketing, product category leads and the project managers in the product development projects.

Further tasks will be:

  • Create in-depth market insight across brands and segments (DK, UK, S, N and IRE) understanding the value proposition
  • You will communicate and engage with all the markets to ensure the necessary support to carry out the agreed and prioritized project portfolio, and anchor the commitment in concordance with relevant expectations and opportunities
  • Make competitor analysis, costumer segmentation and commercial driven idea management
  • Initiate, coordinate and evaluate product launches and phase out initiatives

You will succeed in this role when you have established clear processes and guidelines for the cooperation between the markets and product management – securing a transparent and trustworthy relationship.

Who are you?

You bring to the position a relevant bachelor or master’s degree in Economics or Engineering, and you combine your theoretical background with at least 5-10 years of relevant work experience in larger organizations. Besides being a highly skilled commercial product manager, your skill-set also includes working with go-to market plans, roadmaps, segmentation and life cycle management. You have experience with creating in-depth market insights making a strong base for new product ideas. You will typically have experience from a similar position as product manager or innovation manager working in a technical environment. It will be an advantage if you have experience from the construction industry. You have excellent communication skills and a high proficiency in PowerPoint and other relevant market management tools. The role also requires you to be fully proficient in English.

On a more personal level, you organize and manage your tasks with considerable initiative and structure. Competencies such as strong communication and collaboration skills are ‘a must’. You enjoy working with lots of different types of people and you always look at projects from a commercial perspective. It is important that you can navigate within a matrix organisation with many stakeholders, and that you can drive results in this type of environment. 

Your strong points are your drive, that you are business-oriented, have an analytical approach and an ability to deliver quality solutions on time. You can translate product technical information to non-subject matter experts in a clear and understandable way.  You have a desire to move things forward, getting your energy from achieving goals and being a self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Daily life is fast paced and at times quite pressurized, however communication is relaxed and informal with a focus on learning, improvement and support
