As part of DFDS’ continued growth and development, we are looking to grow and strengthen our Strategy & Consulting team (S&C) and are therefore seeking ambitious Project Managers/Senior Project Managers. The seniority of the role depends on the applicant’s experience and profile.

The Strategy & Consulting team
The Strategy & Consulting team supports the Executive Committee (EC) and the line of business with consultancy services on various and very diverse strategic projects throughout the company. Projects include various topics like strategy, top-line growth, integration, turnaround, operational efficiency improvements, process optimizations and change management. Recently, technology driven projects was also added to S&C’ project portfolio, which means we also lead projects with data engineers and data scientists as important team members.
Today, the S&C team consists of 11 employees (including three student workers) with the majority being experienced hires from BCG and McKinsey. The role reports to Filip Hermann, VP, Strategy & Consulting. Filip Hermann has a background as principal at BCG and replaced Valdemar Warburg in 2018. Valdemar came from a similar role at McKinsey as an associate principal. The Strategy & Consulting team reports directly to EC.

The position
S&C manages a wide range of projects within all areas of the business. As a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager, you will become the content and process expert surrounding a project from beginning to end. Your focus will be to support the business with all tasks needed for the project to become a success, this will include, but is not limited to:
• Problem solving, data analysis and business cases
• Presentation of findings to senior management
• Project planning and management
• Implementation of solutions and best practices
• Involvement and coordination with all stakeholders
• Coaching and leadership of junior colleagues

Your role as an in-house consultant will vary. In some projects you will be responsible for driving the project forward and in others you will be part of a work group; analyzing issues and implementing solutions. Regardless, you are expected to lead the change facing DFDS.

Ambitious, hardworking and strong personal drive
We expect you to have completed a Masters within finance, business, economics or engineering, at the top of your class. The ideal candidate has practical experience from a top-tier management consulting firm or from a similar position in another large, international company, and ideally leadership and coaching experience as a project manager. Most importantly you have a good sense of project management, strong problem solving and analytical skills and excellent communication skills. English is a prerequisite. Furthermore, you are an ambitious individual with a strong personal drive and a proven track record for delivering results.

The job is based in DFDS Headquarters in Copenhagen but travelling in periods to DFDS’s other locations around Europe must be expected.
