Production Engineer for unique 3D printer technology
Close contact to Contract Manufacturer, ensuring that the products meet customers expectations and internal KPI´s
For our client XAAR in Copenhagen we are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic engineer with production focus, who will join a small but highly competent, driven, innovative and experienced team.
You will play a key role making sure that the brand-new high-speed 3D printer based on world-leading piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet technologies, meet both internal and external expectations such as cost, out of box performance etc. The company XAAR innovates 3D printing; moving from prototyping into production printers.
Referring to the Head of 3D Printing, you will become part of a competent and development-oriented team including both the Danish R&D Department of XAAR as well as the 3D Printing team in Nottingham.
In the role as Production Engineer, you ensure that product performance KPI´s are communicated, targeted and delivered. You complete design for manufacturing projects, instruct and advice the production Partners and handle their production-related issues as well as making design changes and more. You will be responsible for continuously optimizing production in collaboration with the selected Contract Manufacturer, coordinating with the development department, and understanding all processes in production to ensure optimal design/production flow and a product which delivers within all the expected criteria.
In addition, you must focus on ensuring competitive production price and quality, and that the products are properly tested and meet customer expectations.
You have an M.Sc. or equivalent in mechanical engineering, production or similar.
You have some years of experience from industrial product development, combined with a few years of experience within a similar role where you have been part of New Product Introduction including minimizing costs and stabilizing new products, so they meet the different internal KPI´s and meets customer expectations.
We also expect you to have experience in some of the following:
– Design for manufacturing
– Advanced design concepts
– Project Management skills
– Desirable: Electronics design competencies
As a person you are pragmatic, practical and realistic. You have a strong drive and are passionate about what you do. You give excellent attention to detail, whilst still having an appreciation for the bigger picture. You have the ability, drive and overview of production processes allowing you to find the right solutions, ensuring that the full potential of the product will be fulfilled. You are a finisher and thrive in a flat organisation, where you will have an actual say and you are used to working with many different stakeholders.
Working as part of an international company, we expect you to be willing to travel and you will need to be fluent in written and spoken technical English.
